Popularly
known as European Boutique breads, the Artisanas line represents
a palette of middle-European tastes connected to Switzerland
and its 4 neighboring countries – Germany, Italy, France
and Austria.
Bread is within the world of side dishes that what ultimately
makes the nostalgic meal worth reliving. After all, the garnish
and accompaniment make the meal whole and that’s why
food-lovers around the world say; fine dining makes a promising
start with a breadbasket that contains warm freshly baked
artisan breads, such as our Jogging bread (multigrain), Rustica
loaf (dark rye), or a delicious Italian Ciabatta (white bread).
Bread is one of the oldest foods known to man and has been
a staple food for over 5,000 years. It even has the biblical
name of The Staff of Life. Some 8,000 years ago man made flour
by crushing grains between two stones. The flour was mixed
with water and the paste was dried in the sun, making bread.
In time a bake stone was used to bake a risen loaf and in
time dough-making techniques added to a palette rich in taste
and variety. Artisana embarked on a journey and rediscovered
old methods and recipes to produce bread in traditional manner
and bring out the full flavor of the ingredients.
Artisanas
– from Artisan (A;tI"zan), meaning a skilled craftsman
who works by hand:
Skilled Bakers – Artisanas revived handcrafting and
avoids modern fast production methods that use lots of sugar
to pep up an otherwise dull experience.
A wealth of Character and Quality – The results are
well worth the extra effort. Crusts are thick, crisp, golden
brown and intensely flavored. The crumb is textured with holes
of various sizes and tastes naturally sweet and wheaty. Unlike
sugared breads that can dominate the topping, our traditional
recipes accompany and underline your meal. |
